ETESAL shares El Salvador transmission expansion requirements with UKIEE 2027

ETESAL has provided UKIEE with technical and delivery requirements associated with El Salvador’s transmission-infrastructure expansion planning.

Empresa Transmisora de El Salvador (ETESAL) has provided UKIEE with information on areas of interest associated with El Salvador’s transmission-infrastructure expansion planning.

Areas identified by ETESAL

  • national transmission-network expansion, including GIS substations, transformers and transmission lines;
  • digitalisation of transmission operations;
  • predictive maintenance;
  • AI applications in electricity-system management;
  • engineering and specialist project-delivery capability for social and environmental studies;
  • qualified international equipment manufacturers;
  • operations and maintenance technologies;
  • project finance and infrastructure investment; and
  • international research and institutional cooperation.

Current project and delivery requirements

  • Development / procurement stage: preliminary studies.
  • Principal engineering requirement: EPC providers.
  • International supply-chain requirement: manufacturing and delivery in one year or less.
  • Anticipated procurement / implementation timing: two years or less.

The information has also been added to The Project Room so relevant EPC contractors, manufacturers, technology providers, engineering specialists, investors and research organisations can assess potential fit and request a project discussion through UKIEE.
