Empresa Transmisora de El Salvador (ETESAL) has provided UKIEE with information on areas of interest associated with El Salvador’s transmission-infrastructure expansion planning.
Areas identified by ETESAL
- national transmission-network expansion, including GIS substations, transformers and transmission lines;
- digitalisation of transmission operations;
- predictive maintenance;
- AI applications in electricity-system management;
- engineering and specialist project-delivery capability for social and environmental studies;
- qualified international equipment manufacturers;
- operations and maintenance technologies;
- project finance and infrastructure investment; and
- international research and institutional cooperation.
Current project and delivery requirements
- Development / procurement stage: preliminary studies.
- Principal engineering requirement: EPC providers.
- International supply-chain requirement: manufacturing and delivery in one year or less.
- Anticipated procurement / implementation timing: two years or less.
